I do not "Cop Out"

Such professional pictures; taken on my bed.

Here you have my 114 square foot dwelling. It has a bathroom with sink, toilet, a shower and over head storage. There's a laundry closet thing with three shelves. Yes, I decided to put a laundry closet in my home because I think it's a necessity. I mean, I'm already getting lazy and not using soap to wash my 3 dishes. How am I supposed to wash a load of clothes? Honestly.

It has a moving wall along tracks, the bottom ones are simply on the floor while the upper tracks actually bend with the roof, however instead of making a point at the top, the tracks curve. To adjust to the height differences, I would use springs to help it move. Side note. Think I'm too little to move a wall? Well, you're wrong! Bath and Body Works stores their supplies in moving 2' shelves, 12' high! Stacked with candles and bottles and things. So suck on that. The moving wall also has a hole in it so I can place my tv and have it swivel between the living room and the kitchen. This way I can kinda partially watch it while I cook. The T.A's were all "how can you watch tv a cook, its behind you." blah blah blah. You see, I don't actually "watch" tv while cooking, I like having it for the noise. Makes the home seem less lonely. And I would NEVER watch something NEW while cooking, I only watch reruns of shows I've seen and would turn around for the funny parts. Such as South Park! Man, I love that show. Anyway, a swiveling hole in the wall would allow me to easily turn my head to watch the 15 second funny part instead of dropping everything and running to the living room. Geez, why can't people simply think the way I do. Things would make so much more sense!

The kitchen has a 48" counter, a 15" sink and a two burner stove with small oven below that. (To make chocolate pie...which I now want some so I shall go cut me a piece of the pie my mommy made for me to take back to college! Mmm, pie. I will so have to edit this stuff if I ever give a real employer this.) I have a large mini fridge in the corner, a microwave, and also a swing up table like thing to add more counter space! Instead of having cabinets above, I planned a drying rack system with thin bars to support the 6 plates of assorted sizes and stick out ...sticks.. to hold my cups! This way I don't need a double sink and I end up with more counter space.

To the living room! My bed is an extreme Murphy bed, in the way the mattress is actually under the sofa and you pull it up and place it on top of the couch so you have a sorta bunk bed thing going on. the 5' shelf will come apart into three seats for extra seating if I ever have visitors. To be honest, I never have visitors. I hardly going out at all! I went to 2 footballs games all of high school. I am -not- social. I have the internet to keep me company. Sigh, I live such a pathetic life. I wonder if the T.A's are actually reading this. If one of you three is reading this, please surprise the class with donuts. If you're not reading this, then you're a terrible T.A and I shall give you a terrible evaluation! If we don't give evaluations, I'll make anyway and send it to the Dean! Ha! Also, I have a chest which will hold my clothes and act as a desk. Instead of hinges, the top floats...? up and comes closer to the... couch.. Yeah... So I can put my laptop there!

On to windows. In the front and to the right, I have two normal windows. I didn't want to put another one on top because then the light from the sun could come in and wake me up. So annoying, that sun is. So, instead I put a window (that follows the roof line) on top of the door for air circulation. This allows a nice NE-E wind to flow into the kitchen and spread the wonderful spell of my chocolate pie to my neighbors and maybe they'll come visit for a piece of pie! Then I might actually socialize! Oh wait, just kidding. You refrigerate chocolate pie. Good, more for me! The three windows in the bathroom are vertical and rather thin. 6" x 36." They stagger upward by 3" to mimic the slanted windows in the front above the door, and the back windows. Now, the back windows.  The back ones span 9 feet and are up to 12 feet high. I personally don't like large windows, they make me feel like people are being creepers and spying on me. So! This is where the moving wall comes in! The moving wall separates the large wall of windows so I don't feel so "out there." I also have this fear of stepping outside my house at night and some guy shooting me for his initiation into a gang or something. Weird, I know, but still. And I do not "cop out." Thought I didn't realize that design plan? You're wrong. If you have a problem with a design, don't build it for yourself. I stand by my model 100%. As for me, function trumps design. It should be 62% function and 48% Design.. But Emily! 62+48=110. I know. You should always put in 110%.

Oh snap! Totally forgot about the roof. It's slanted so water can collect toward the plumbing side of the house and the longer side over hangs on the shorter side to the sun's rays won't go in through the window at heat up the house. Also, the 3' over hang on the front allows for a nice sitting areas in evenings when it's shady on that side of the house! Hazzah! 110%. And go.

The first half of my first real model.

The beginnings of my final model, Geoff thinks it's crap. Well, Geoff, my model will be amazing when I'm done with it. Fo' real...

Jk, I redid my model and it still came out like crap. Well, perhaps nicer looking crap...?

Project #2

Today was somewhat frustrating, not that the class wasn't awesome or anything, but because I have such lame ideas for furniture. And I really hate that I only sketched furniture. I couldn't come up with any cool sculptures or "high tech devices." WTF is that?!? It, apparently, is "anything." I have 4 more sketches to go and hopefully I'll come up with some fantastic! and I definitely don't feel like posting pictures, I hope it's not required. Meh, whatev. On to drawing my room!.. Now if I only had drawing paper.

P.s I saw Reveille today! She's so soft.
